I am using a Falk P250 PNA (Mobile Navigator Device). On Windows XP as Host System there are no problems to connect the device via USB to ActiveSync. The PNA is recognized as a WindowsCE Device with ID 045e:00ce.
With Virtualbox 1.5.6 on a Linux AMD64-Host (Gentoo with 2.6.24.4 Kernel) the Windows XP Guest-System doesn't recognize the Device. It just shows up an Unknown (not working) USB Device and Active Sync completely ignores it. Virtualbox shows the PNA as "Unknown 045e:00ce", but the ID 045e:00ce is not recognized by the Windows Guest.
On the Linux Host it is no problem to connect to the device with the SyncCE-Tools. Any chance that Virtualbox can pass through all needed information about the usb device to the Windows Guest?

I'm having a similar problem. I have VirtualBox 1.5.6 hosted by Debian Etch, with Windows XP SP2 as guest. I have an HTC TyTN phone that shows up as 'HTC Generic Serial' when attached via USB. The phone runs Windows Mobile 6.
ActiveSync 4.5 installed and runs fine. The device can be attached as an unknown USB device but XP does not recognise it as a phone.
Any help in resolving this matter would be gratefully received!
